This Melts My Butter

To steal a phrase from one of my favorite bloggers, this is the stuff that I read/saw/pinned this week that really "melts my butter"... Hope you find it a little bit interesting, too!

I love how simple and fun this is! Marbles in the fence holes...  It's so artsy fartsy and fabulous!

Someone (who is a genius) not only drank enough champage to accomplish it but originally had the brilliant thought to put the corks on their cabinets as hardware. I heart his to the moon and back. It conflicts with the utterly tailored look I envisioned for my {someday} kitchen but I think a little reinvention is a good thing.

Oh, birds. Let me count the ways I love them. I've got them in every room of the house and I don't care

that they became trendy for a while. I still love them so. I pinned about a million bird themed party

things this week. (Or I could say, I pinned a flock load...) Love, love, love!

No explanation needed, right?

Again, the conflict between my tailored and "princess" side and my boho-artsy-vibrant side is apparent. This is one of my most favorite nurseries I've seen on the internet. But my other favorite? Totally bright, and eclectic and nothing like this. It's too bad Bebe G doesn't get a say yet!

Isn't this the cutest?? I've got to track this down. I know a daddy to be who's going to need it!

Some Randomness

I'm always amazed at the interesting variety of pictures that accumulate on my iPhone.

Catching some sunshine.

An afternoon nap.

Asleep at the Wheel and Cory Morrow concert.

Daddy and GAR at GAR's restaurant.

The little edamame. Isn't technology amazing?

My Dr on the right and our friend Vickie who is a l&d nurse at the hospital I'll deliver at.

Dad in Africa - the sunsets looked amazing!

My masterpiece! Never was there a more awesome Authors Chair!

Oktoberfest!!

LJ's first birthday. Love that kiddo so much.

Bebe G again!

Brie at Dairy Queen patiently waiting for her kids cone.

... And devouring it.

Typical tv watching in this house. I'm pretty sure she thinks she's the perfect lap dog.

Whew. Thanks for indulging me. xx

...and baby makes three!

Do you know how many cute and creative "we're expecting" announcements are out there?

HUNDREDS!

Literally!

And yet none of them seemed right for OUR big (social media) announcement.

So we did what we do best. We tagged teamed.

ARG: "Eating for two."
FMG: "Drinking for three."

We are so overwhelmed by all of the well wishes and sweet comments made by friends and family far and wide.

Bebe G is already so loved.

...now if April could just hurry and get here already!

Oh, my poor little neglected blog!

I'm so sorry I've abandoned you.

It's LIFE. It got in the way.

I promise to come back... cross my heart.

...and I think it will be worth the wait.

sometimes it's fun to answer marketing calls

marketing/sales call:

me: Hello?

woman: Hi! Can I talk your mommy or daddy?

me: You'll have to call them at their home. My husband and I don't have any parents living with us.

woman: Oh... I'm so sorry. I'm calling on behalf of ::something, I tuned out:: ... take the survey?

me: Sure.

woman: Ok, how many people living in your home are over the age of 35?

me: Zero.

woman: Excuse me?

me: My husband and I are both under thirty.

woman: (laughing so hard she can't breathe) I can only survey people over 35. Miss, I am so sorry. But this has been the best call I've made all day.

me: Glad to help. Have a great day.

woman: Oh, Honey... I will NOW!

An Antique Show? {Yes. Seriously.}

I do not know what has gotten into me lately.

Burlap.

Seasonal wreaths.

Repurposing.

ANTIQUES.

Ugh. I hope this is not a phase I look back on and think "what was I thinking?" because I'm kindof in love with the whole old-is-new thing. (Even if its not a new concept.)

Check this out:

The Marburger Farm Antique Show in Round Top, Texas (pop. 90 - just in case you didn't know).

It's apparently the holy grail of antiquing and completely new to me! I applied to be a "VIB" or Very Important Blogger - on a whim - and got a nice email that I indeed was a VIB. How fun is that?

I have no place in my home for this - but how amazing would it be in a kitchen? (Plus I'm sure its so beyond my means - but I can look, right?)

I'm so in love with this chair -- I can imagine so many fabulous photo shoots in this chair!

These letters are so stinkin' cool - I'd love to do a wall of "G's" in the house somewhere. (Or is that a little over the top?)

Zero explanation needed for my love of this one, right?

Sah-woon. I'll take one of each, please!!!

(All of the images are from the facebook page I liked to above!)

I'm excited to experience the goodness myself ... I'll be saving my pennies in hopes I can score a faboo find in my bidget. What exactly? I have no idea. But I"m sure there will be something I can't live without!

Meet Bob.

This is Bob. He has amazing limey-turquoisey eyes and he drools when he's happy.

Bob has white paws that he makes a week's worth of biscuits with.

Bob enjoys a vigorous groom with his pink comb. He likes it even more when its on the kitchen table.

Bob also likes when there is Louis on the table. Bob has good taste.

Bob likes his treats, too. Bob talks with his mouth full and tells you how much he likes his treats.

Bob is fantastic at supervising plant watering.

Bob has a cat door that he uses when he has to. He much prefers for the human door to be opened for him though. And he'll make sure everyone knows about it.

Bob likes his mouse. Bob also has a very obvious "I'm done now" look. This is it.

(Thanks for letting me Bob-sit MSS! He's a precious precious boy!)

Shut the Front Door.

Brought to you by my sweet friend KJC... who knows what gets this girl's heart racing:

You know you're loved when a friend sees Sharpies and not only thinks of you but sends you a picture of the gloriousness.

{i heart you too, KJC! xx}

sweet giveaway!

I think one of the phenomenon's of blogging is you (I) get to feel like you (I) "know" a person ... when in real life, all you (I) know is what they post on the internet for you and 249,857,302 of their best (online) friends to read.

I wanted to share a giveaway with you.

I started my original post with "My friend, Cori...". But Cori doesn't know me.

I don't really know her. I know she's short (her blog says so). I know she has great style (her blog shows so). I know she uses great words like "despondent" to describe feelings (you know I love a great adjective). I know she sews ... and she's giving away one of my favorite skirts she makes on her blog.

I'm not sure that the stripes would be kind to me... but I do know that I would wear it, regardless.

How much fun would this be for school (oooooo... on Friday, with my school shirt and precious ballet flats? yes, please!).

Go enter... and think of me if you win!

xx

Brie is a star!

Ok... not really - but Jojo bought her a fabulous new collar at the farmer's market in Salt Lake City and we sent Brie's picture to the awesome artist who created it... and now Brie is on her webpage!

The artist, Dawn, creates a line of collars that she calls "WoofWare". We love them!

(and was it REALLY  July 9th since I last posted? wow! Blogger of the year!)

He said I was a firework

We spent the Fourth in Port Aransas - and the firework show at Robert's Point Park was nothing short of amazing this year. (It's actually amazing every year.) The park is right on the water about 50 yards from the ferry boats and the fireworks are set off about 20 yards from where we set up our chairs. Being so close means that the booms are louder, the bursts brighter and the experience thrilling.

(GAR and I couldn't resist a "sword fight" with our glowy sticks. I'm glad some things never change.)

Hope your Fourth of July was awesome.

Insta-Friday

My week in cell phone pictures - I love this concept!

Sharpies are in my top-10-of-all-time list.

We got a new, grown up, chair this week! Turco LOVES it already!

Social Club Kickball! Games are at 9:30... when it's finally starting to cool down! :)

Getting ready for the beach. My annual ritual of cleaning out the pantry for stale crackers to feed the sea gulls.

Fourth of July Bunting. It's a little americana/country for our house, but for a midnight crafting session it came out pretty dang cutsie-pie.

Beautiful flowers from two even more beautiful friends. xx

Dinner, pool, and bubbly with a dear friend. Who says you need a specific reason to break out bubbles? I love celebrating life, everyday!

Are you on instagram? Will you leave your username in the comments? I'd love to follow you!
