So... La...

I have SO much to catch up on! An amazing Chinese New Year's party, a trip to Salt Lake City, my sweet friend Kate bestowed a "stylish blogger" sash to me today... so much LIFE to LIVE!!!

Today was a tough Tuesday... and I think until the education finance crisis is resolved there will be a lot of tough days ahead. But inspite of myself I'm still looking for smiles, laughs, and extraordinary in the ordinary.

A Tuesday treat (fat and calorie free!):

(That just makes me smile all over! I love the kiddo's entrance on the stairs and the suit and tie guy towards the end!)

(Guess what else makes me smile? In a few days I get to see some amazing girls and celebrate a decade of friendship with them!)

He's so O-L-D

Even though he's younger than me by four years I still feel like GAR is getting old. Which means I'm probably getting old.

Happy Birthday, Valentine baby! You're the best "little" brother a girl could ask for!

New toy!

One of the best parts about reading so many blogs are the cool resources and sites and people that I can get "connected" with. Totally six degrees of separation!

This one is from JSP, the CIT on my campus. Tagxedo (tag-seed-oh - like tuxedo) is a word cloud generator. Check it out!

These are words from CasaG. I'm not sure how it decides which words to use, but I can't wait to see what other applications I can think of. The brain juices are flowing!

Pretty Please?

This week's MCP Project 52 inspirations was "words". I like that . I thought about love letters, things my kiddos write to me (and about me... thats another story!), the dry erase marker messages FMG leaves me in the bathroom. We see so many words everyday.

The other night I was sitting on the kitchen counter supervising the dinner clean up and my cookbooks caught my eye. I have my four favorite Ina Garten cookbooks, my PW Cooks, and a wine book on a little shelf in my kitchen. (The rest are in the office bookshelves.) Not only do I love the colors of the jackets and the go-to recipes but I really heart the words on the spines.

The one word that stood out was "home". Where the heart is. In our house, the kitchen is the heart of the home. So does that make my kitchen the heart of my heart?

I love these pictures and I think they are a good, if not a little predictable, interpretation of this weeks theme.
Problem is... I can't decide which one to submit.

Help?
Pretty please?

We could totally be the next Modern Family. If I know you in real life, you'd have to agree. We've literally got all of the elements. (And we're a pretty good looking bunch, too.)

It's A Very Special Day!

It's a very special day at the Casa.

A day that must be observed with reverence, honor, and cake.

Today is Brie's birthday!

It's hard to believe that this sweet girl is already a year old! I can only imagine that if this year flew by so fast with our puppy that it seems doubly fast with a human baby!

Brie really, truly is a great girl. She has a ready "hug" and lick for anyone who wants it. The girl has never met a stranger.

She's a champion cuddler. Invite her onto the couch and she's in your lap. Yes. All 90 pounds of her! She loves her cats, even if she can't resist standing on her back legs to "check on" them in the cat tree. She can't help it if she's got long legs and out grew a huge kennel and needs a giant sized kennel.

She loves her Jojo and Paco and will get her leash on command to "Go to Jojo's House".  She never turns down a car ride and loves going to day care (where they all greet her by name as she makes her rounds). I love coming home to this sweet face.

I never wanted a German Shepherd, but I couldn't ask for a better doghter!

Love you Sweet Brie! Happy First Birthday!
