play date with roo

Cousin Roo came to play!

He just got back to Texas from Hawaii with his Mom, Kristy.

Brie had a divine time chasing Roo and stealing his beloved frisbee.

"Maybe if I don't look him in the eye, he won't notice I stole his frisbee again."

Roo's only break from the Brie-Monster was when he was in the pool.

Because Roo voluntarily swims. Brie doesn't.

She's great at supervising the swimming.

But she's more of a sit on the step kind of girl.

bonito

Bonito is one of my most favorite cats in the whole world. His mom, Lara, is one of my most favorite people in the whole world, too. Perfect match.

He is super sweet. And soft. And patient while I took a million pictures of him.

Love that cat.

i feel famous!

My RPBC Crownies (posted over on fab bites) were featured on one of my most favorite blogs: Kevin and Amanda! I'm totally obsessed with her fonts (hello, I'm ARG, and I'm a font-a-holic) and love reading her blog. Go look!

Also, the Boddies left for Ethiopia to go to adoption court today. If you're a thoughts and prayers kind of person, please keep them in mind. This has been a journey I'm in awe of and I can't wait to hear about everything when they get back!

Last thing! You can now go straight to http://www.casagentis.com/ to get here!

Kate (over at life. simply stated) shared a link to "Catalog Living". I can't wait for more posts. I laughed SO hard reading the first few she's done. Eat your heart out, Anne Taintor.

day trip: Fredericksburg

During the school year FMG's non-traditional work schedule is a challenge. He's off on weekday, I'm at school. I'm off on the weekends, he is at work. One of my most favorite parts of summer is that his days off can be my weekend with him! Last Thursday we took a "date"trip to Fredericksburg, TX  -- we ate great German food, shopped, walked through the Farmer's Market, ate and drank more and were back home the same night. I can't wait to go back!

The Auslander was rated in Texas Monthly and had high reviews everywhere we read about it. It passed FMG's discriminating taste - so we'll be back!

There was a precious kitchen store that I could have spent my life savings in. I settled for a "Mocha Slushy" from their in-store coffee bar. YUM!

The Farmer's Market was full of yummy looking, smelling, and tasting things. That bread was divine! And the table next to it had some of the best goat cheese I've ever tasted. It was like buttah!

There were amazing saucer sized zinnias all over the market. A sweet gentleman gave me a jar of them when I was done taking pictures of them. It made my day! FMG was happy to take a feet-in-the-grass break while I was flitting around finding interesting things like jasmine-peach tea (YUM) and a blossoming artichoke. I'd never seen one before! The other fruits, veggies and flowers were phenomenal.

After all that walking around we decided to get a snack before heading home. The Fredericksburg Brewing Co. had a large assortment of in-house brewed beer. They have their fall line up listed and I can't wait to sample them when it cools down!

The day was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!

When Brie was little (was she ever little?) she and Turco would chase around the house... Jojo got them in her iphone and made us this video! Sidenote: the track is called "Catwalk" :o)

{summer}

What a wonderful weekend! Kristy, home from Hawaii for good, Katie and Ryan invaded and we ate, played in the pool, and talked until there was nothing left to say. Our tubing trip was cancelled because of a flash flood in New Braunsfels that shut down the Guadalupe and Comal rivers, and Lake McQueeny. The weekend in pictures:

Bath Time!

Brie grew out of sweet-puppy-smell and enthusiastically adopted a what-every-other-dog-smells-like-smell so it was time for her first bath!

She wasn't sure what to think at first. Sha loves the water so being wet wasn't the problem! I think our perpetually moving puppy just didn't like being held in one spot!

"Um, WHAT are you doing back there?" She's still waiting for the whole point of this boring and movement prohibiting excercise.

Now tell me that isn't a dog who is spoiled and I'll tell you thats a dog who will only be 30 or so pounds "full grown". Do some squats, FMG, and call it a work out!

Adios, Classroom!

How do you know summer is here!?

My classroom looks like THIS!!!

Dearest pool, I'm on my way!
