Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Thanks for the curls (and eyebrows... haha).

Thanks for being a perfect example of what a man, father and husband should be.

Thanks for the encouragement, your wise words, for sharing your competitive gene, and your sense of adventure.

You're pretty damn awesome.

And Happy Father's Day to my awesome father-in-law! You're the best FIL a girl could ask for. Thanks for getting my jokes (or at least pretending to!), always having vodka and limes, and slowing the family down when my short legs can't keep up. Love you, IAG!

Happy Easter!

Thats my Great Grandfather, GWR with the suit on in the back, and my Aunts and Uncle. I know the date says November... but I love this picture and it could totally be an Easter Sunday!

I borrowed my friend Dave's Quote of the Day from Facebook:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

fried chicken and fireworks

Whats more all-American than fried chicken and fireworks? Hello, perfect Fourth of July! No hot grill, no clean up, and an amazing show!

I share your sentiments, GWR. I share them, exactly.

Mmmm... Mmmm... Mmmmm!

We grabbed a great spot for our to-go-picnic and to watch the fire works from.

The sunset was gorgi and dusk settled nicely into dark.

While we waited for "dark-thirty" to come Jojo and I played with shutter speed and glo-sticks.

When that got old, I used the Ferry Boat and dock lights. ADD, much?

Then the fireworks show started. The H E Butt foundation and HEB sponsors the 45 minute show each year. There just isn't anything like it! It feels like a personal show just for you.

Fourth of July Eve

Happy Fourth of July Eve!

Nancy had this over on her blog and I love it (so I stole (ahem, borrowed) it!):

"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."
